On Saturday, a significant meeting took place between the Punjab Finance Minister, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, and a delegation from the Chainstore Association of Pakistan (CAP) at the Civil Secretariat. The session was arranged in response to the recent imposition of a 16 percent sales tax on commercial property rent by the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA). This move has raised concerns within the organized retail sector, prompting CAP to formally request a review of the decision.
